Meet the Staff

Dr. John A Stevens

Dentist

I love what I do and often at the end of a long work day I reflect back on the results of the days labor and think, this is great!

It has been my goal to provide my patients with the finest dental care I can provide, while listening to their concerns and desires. I wish to help people understand as much as possible about their oral health, and educate them about what they can do to keep their smile it’s best.

Dental care involves a lot of personal choice, and often there is more than one way to treat an oral condition or problem. I would like to be a partner with my patients and a guide for them to achieve their own optimal oral health. This means a commitment to personalized care, and the belief that the dentist and the patient together should be responsible for their oral health. I also use the Golden Rule in my relations with my patients.

Of course, I enjoy cosmetic dentistry such as bleaching and veneers, like every other dentist in this area does. Every one wants to be known as a cosmetic dentist these days.

Dr. Devon Le

Owner/Dentist

Mt. Hermon Dental Care is proud to welcome Dr. Devon Le as the owner of the practice, which he purchased in April 2026. Born and raised in San Jose, California, Dr. Le completed both his undergraduate and dental education through the accelerated 3+3 program at the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degrees.

Following graduation, Dr. Le pursued advanced clinical training through a General Practice Residency at the Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Houston, Texas. During this intensive hospital-based program, he gained valuable experience treating medically complex patients, performing surgical procedures, and managing dental and medical emergencies in a multidisciplinary setting. After completing his residency and spending several years practicing in the Bay Area, Dr. Le eventually made his way to the coast, drawn to the nature and ocean breeze.

Dr. Le’s passion for dentistry began at an early age through his love of science and healthcare, but it became deeply personal after his own experience with orthodontic treatment. Growing up with misaligned teeth affected his self-confidence, and seeing the positive transformation dental care provided inspired him to pursue the profession. Through shadowing his family dentist and other practitioners in his community, he discovered a passion for combining technical skill, problem-solving, and meaningful patient relationships.

What continues to inspire Dr. Le most about dentistry is its unique blend of healthcare, artistry, and engineering. He enjoys approaching each case thoughtfully while providing care that is both functional and confidence-building for his patients. His professional interests include CAD/CAM dentistry and expanding the use of digital technology to improve patient experiences. He is also passionate about emergency dentistry and helping patients find relief from pain through procedures such as extractions and root canals, always with the goal of making dental care more comfortable and approachable.

During dental school, Dr. Le realized he had chosen the right profession after treating a patient with severe dental anxiety and extensive dental decay. Through compassionate, patient-centered care, he was able to restore her smile and confidence. The emotional impact of that experience reinforced his belief that dentistry is not just about procedures, but about rebuilding trust, easing fear, and improving quality of life.

Outside of the office, Dr. Le enjoys staying active and spending time outdoors. He grew up playing competitive soccer and swimming, experiences that helped shape his discipline, teamwork, and work ethic. He also earned the prestigious Eagle Scout Award, which strengthened his commitment to leadership and service. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his partner, Rachel, and their dog, Louis. On his days off, you can often find him at the golf range, surf fishing, or traveling to explore new restaurants and local cuisines from different cultures.

Angela

Front Office Coordinator

Mt. Hermon Dental Care is fortunate to have Angela Ray leading the front office as the practice’s de facto Office Manager, a role she has proudly held for over four years. A third-generation Californian on her father’s side, Angela was born in San Francisco and later graduated from Saratoga High School before earning her Bachelor of Arts in Painting from San Jose State University.

Her first job after college was at the McHenry Library at University of California, Santa Cruz. Angela originally lived in Santa Cruz during the vibrant “hippie days” of the 1970s before moving to Humboldt County, where she raised her son, eventually returning to Santa Cruz in the early 2000s.

Angela’s journey into the dental field began about 10 years ago when her dental hygienist encouraged her to apply her bookkeeping, office management, and organizational skills in a dental practice. With a natural love for numbers and organization, she quickly found her place in the profession. What she enjoys most, however, is connecting with the unique and interesting people in the community and being able to help patients feel welcomed and supported.

Outside of work, Angela is deeply creative and expressive. She has a passion for quirky fashion and often designs and makes some of her own clothing, preferring to dress according to her mood rather than wear scrubs. She enjoys tapestry crochet with intricate patterns and unusual shapes, knitting, jewelry making, and metalsmithing. Over the years, she has also created rock-and-roll posters, personalized business cards, wedding invitations, and even PPE-themed illustrations of friends and family during the pandemic.

Angela is also a former antique dealer who loves surrounding herself with beauty and unique treasures. An avid gardener, she enjoys growing orchids, orchid cacti, and other unusual plants. In her free time, she loves traveling, exploring ethnic cuisines, and using the cooking skills passed down from her Italian mother. She especially enjoys baking pies and quick breads for family and friends.
